Inez Fowlkes

Becker- Inez Odom Fowlkes, 87, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at River Place Nursing Center in Amory. Born December 12, 1927 in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late John and Della Millwood Odom. Living in Monroe County, she married the late Charlie Fowlkes. Strong in her faith, she was a member for the last 73 years at Antioch Baptist Church in Becker where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a 55 year member of the Eastern Star serving as a Past Worthy Matron. She enjoyed gardening, playing Rook, having and going to yard sales. Her biggest enjoyment other than being with her family was going to the Casino. She is survived by her daughter Faye Morris, Becker; son, Jimmie Doyle Fowlkes (Paulette), Becker; grandchildren, Charlotte Richardson (Allen), David Greenhill, Tommy Greenhill (Angel), Doyle Fowlkes, Jamie Fowlkes (Connie), Jerry Fowlkes, Kevil Childers, Ben Childers (Christina), Ricky Haley (Paula), Justin Fowlkes (Christy), Johnny Fowlkes and Jolie Fowlkes; 26 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; special friends, Marcia Hill, Joann Stone, Bunch West, residents and staff of River Place Nursing Center and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a son, Marty Fowlkes; daughter, Judy Childers and 3 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory at 11 AM with Bro. Robert Fowlkes, Bro. Brian Richardson and Bro. Randy “Bubba” Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doyle, Jerry and Jamie Fowlkes, Tommy and David Greenhill, Kevin and Ben Childers. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday Evening at the funeral home from 5-8 PM. Condolences may be shared with the family at clevelandmoffettfuneralhome.com.
