Betty Dale Wardlaw Burdine, 76, died on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Smithville. Born December 16, 1938, she was a daughter of Howard and Ovie Cook Wardlaw and she was married to Jackie Burdine. A homemaker, she was known as an exceptional cook and she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, listening to gospel music, and shopping with her sisters. She was a member of the Hatley Primitive Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Wes White officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park in Amory. Survivors include one son, Greg Burdine of Amory; one daughter, Teresa Snow (Johnny) of Smithville; daughter-in-law, Teresa Burdine; two sisters, Faye Finley (Royce) of Nettleton and Cynthia Smith (Frank) of Amory; brother-in-law, R.C. Fowlkes; 6 grandchildren, Brandy Burnett, Beth Long (Jamie), Brittany Burdine, Taylor Burdine, John Snow (Amy), and Carrie Anderson; 8 great grandchildren, Gracie and Audrie Long, Jaxton Burdine, Avery Burdine, Ashtyn Hensley, Marley Kate Snow, Rhett Anderson, and Evie Lyles Anderson; and special friends and caregivers, Tracey Fausz, Darlene Fears, Kim Jarrett, Peggy Lochridge, and Community Hospice nurses and staff. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 brothers, Bobby, Pete, and Eddie Wardlaw; 2 sisters, Geneva Fowlkes and Marcelle Riddle; and a grandson, Michael Schrock. Pallbearers will be Todd Finley, Ricky Finley, Frank Smith, Jr., Brian Smith, Mike Fowlkes, Robert Wardlaw, Craig Wardlaw, and John Wardlaw. Her great nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and will continue until service time on Sunday. Memorials may be made to First Friends, P.O. Box 117, Amory, MS 38821 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
